SANSASYON
performance team
SANSASYON is our Konpa performance team and the first of its kind in the Netherlands. Our debut season began in the fall of 2024. Every six months, the group prepares a new show designed to share the beauty, artistry, and diversity of Konpa dancing with the world.
Our team consists of dancers of various ages, nationalities, and dance backgrounds, all united by a shared love and passion for Konpa dance and music.
In our first year, we performed at a variety of social dance events and Konpa concerts. Our biggest performances included the Antilliaanse Feesten Main Stage before T-Vice, Sweelie Baby events before Oswald and Dee End, and the 5Lan & Original H concert.
Team trainings are led by Janita Ilona and Dylan. Janita Ilona serves as the creative director and is responsible for choreography.
Interested in joining us?
We accept new members twice a year: in September and February. However, auditions are only held when we need to replace departing members, so public auditions may not always be available. Keep an eye on our social media or send us a message if you're interested in joining!
The team creates one show per season. Each season lasts 15 weeks, with weekly training sessions of a few hours. Every season includes two mandatory performances and a video shoot. Additional performances or video projects may also take place throughout the season, but participation in these is optional.
SANSASYON’s team culture is rooted in sharing the joy of Konpa and Haitian culture, while growing together in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Interested in having us perform at your event?
We are available to perform at a variety of events in the Netherlands and beyond. While we do not charge a performance fee, we carefully select the events we participate in based on their promotion of Haitian culture and their fair treatment of our dancers.
Our performances can be arranged with formations ranging from 4 to 14 dancers, depending on availability. To discuss the details, please contact us via email or direct message on Instagram.
